IT Security needs handling security incidents, to include reviewing raw log files, data correlation, and analysis (i.e. firewall, network flow, IDS, system logs).
IT Security requires:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience in information security
Experience handling security incidents, to include reviewing raw log files, data correlation, and analysis (i.e. firewall, network flow, IDS, system logs).
Industry-recognized information security certifications, i.e. Security+, CySA+, Net+, CASP, C|EH
Experience with industry standard frameworks
Passionate about identifying malicious attackers, and understanding attack vectors, threat tactics
Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDS concepts.
IT Security duties:

Monitor company networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs.
Perform incident analysis by correlating data from various sources and determine if a critical system or data set is affected.
Handle incidents as defined in Playbooks and Standard Operating Procedures.
Support the Security Operations Center and monitor security tools.
Follow standard operating procedures for detecting, classifying, and triaging security events of interest
